Background
Ronan McSorley was born in the north of Ireland in the early 1980s. He later completed a doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of East London and worked for many years across public mental health services and in private practice. During this time, he helped people make sense of voices, visions, and other profound and unusual experiences. In 2025, he concluded his career in clinical psychology to focus on painting. He works primarily in oil on linen and linocut on paper. His process begins with the selection of found snapshots that serve as the starting point for his compositions. He is currently based in Philadelphia, PA. His work is held in private collections in Ireland, England, and the United States.
